Motsomi Safaris is a family-run safari enterprise. Pieter and Ria Potgieter are the proud owners of this first-class hunting operation, and they certainly live up to the slogan: “Come as a client and leave as friend”, with fully-guided safaris, which are customised and tailored for the African adventure of all hunters and nature lovers.

Situated in the Limpopo Province, close to the Botswana border, our Nyala Lodge borders the Madikwe Game Reserve. With more than 200 000 acres of unspoiled bushveld, it is home to the Big Five, cheetah and wild dog.
Nyala Lodge offers cosy, comfortable accommodation of a high standard. All the rooms are decorated in an African theme to make your experience as authentic as possible.

The lodge can accommodate 12 people comfortably in six en-suite rooms. For your comfort all the rooms are equipped with a ceiling fan and air-conditioning.
Nyala Lodge has a filtered swimming pool. Here you can enjoy the beverage of your choice from our well-stocked bar, built on a wooden deck, just across from the pool. So, put your feet up, apply a little sunscreen, lounge in our comfortable deck chairs … and just RELAX!

The bar lounge is built of wood, featuring luxurious leather cushions to give your tired body the comfort it deserves after a long day’s hunting in the veld.
As the sun sets and the moon rises, join us around the welcoming fire in our boma area, where hunting stories are exchanged, laughter fills the air, the successes of the day are celebrated, and encouraging words are spoken to keep spirits up. In this relaxing setting, your focus for the next day’s hunting is revitalised.
The dining area is part of the lounge area. It has a large table which can comfortably seat 12 people while they enjoy a home-cooked African meal prepared by one of our experienced chefs in our fully-equipped kitchen. The meat harvested on hunts is beautifully prepared with special care and attention. We strive to cater for everyone’s special needs and preferences.
The lounge area boasts comfortable leather couches; a library is available for a relaxing read; and a TV will keep you up to date with the news or weather. The lounge and dining area is equipped with a ceiling fan to keep the heat at bay.
Nyala Lodge’s friendly staff are always ready to lend a helping hand and answer any questions. They are well trained and professional, and take pride in ensuring that our guests are well prepared for their hunting safari.

Sable Lodge is situated in the north of the Limpopo Province, close to a small town called Musina. The lodge is set on top of a hill with a waterhole only 80 yards away. Wildlife frequently visit the waterhole, day and night. Here you can enjoy a panoramic view of the surrounding bushveld, with stunning sunrises to start, and sunsets to end your day.
You are greeted each morning with a hot beverage of your choice and some home-baked goodies to set you up for the day’s hunting, and after a few hours spent in the bush, you are treated to a hot, traditional African brunch. In the evening a delicious African feast awaits you, where you can enjoy venison harvested from the day’s hunting. We are only too happy to meet your specific dietary requirements. After dinner you can retire to the fire, with the varied sounds of the bushveld nightlife providing a fascinating backdrop under the stars.

Sable Lodge has two beautiful rooms, each with its own bathroom and wall fan. Both rooms have a truly African feel and can accommodate two guests comfortably. After a long, tiring day in the veld, you can enjoy a good night’s sleep in a comfortable bed – the best remedy for soothing tired feet and legs.
The barbeque area has a fire pit where a huge fire is lit – or, as the locals say, “where the Bushveld TV is switched on”! The fire brings warmth and comfort at the end of an exciting day. Here friendly advice is exchanged, successes are celebrated and hunting tales are told. If the heat of the fire gets too much, the splash pool is just a few steps away, where you can take a dip, cool off or just refresh yourself.
The dining area is just across from the swimming pool, which creates a very relaxing atmosphere. A magnificent view welcomes you to your African experience. The dinner table can seat six comfortably and is decorated with an African theme. Dinner is prepared in the adjoining kitchen, where our chef works his magic, filling the area with tempting aromas and flavours. The evening ends with dessert served next to the fire.
The lounge area overlooks the breath-taking bushveld scenery. Looking out over the pool, you are very aware of the vastness of the African bush and its wonders, surrounding the lodge. Here you can relax and sink into the cosy chairs while the troubles of everyday life seem far away …ASM
